Why do people come to a psychologist?
Not for the reasons people often think. Most of my clients come in because they are going through a difficult time in their lives. An illness, job transition, or some other major change may trigger a period of negative moods or ineffective behaviors. A sense of being "stuck" in a frustrating pattern, despite one's own efforts to fix it, is often the feeling that leads to a call for an appointment. ![]() |
